Mike Fox
Chapter Director
Mike is a native Chicagoan and has lived most of his life in the Chicagoland area. He and his wife Sue have lived in Will County, Illinois since 1994. He received his undergraduate education from Chicago City College and Moody Bible Institute—his major there was Christian education. He went on to earn two graduate degrees—a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (Christian International University) and in 1989 the Master of Ministry degree from the Moody Graduate School (now known as Moody Theological Seminary). He served in the local church pastorate for 19 years before joining the staff of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Illinois in 2001. He has directed Three Rivers Chapter ministry since 2007 and is credentialed to teach both levels of Teaching Children Effectively. Mike loves teaching after-school Good News Clubs. Sue refers to a GNC as “the fastest hour in America!” Mike and Sue are both involved in their local church as children’s workers. Mike also loves to write. He was privileged to recently write the forward of a friend’s book; he also wrote a manuscript, The Cross Walk – Joy of Obedience, which someday he hopes to see, published.

Stephen Fox
Ministries Coordinator
Steve is a PK: a pastor’s kid. For as long as he can remember he has always desired to help others learn. In school, kids came to him in order to understand what was going on in class. While in high school, he sensed God calling him to ministry. God impressed upon him there were so many people lost in his school and that he should do something about this. So, Steve attended Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL with a major in Secondary Education. The idea was to get a degree and a teaching position and then start a Christian club on the inside. He graduated from Trinity with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in education. After graduating he received his Illinois certification as a teacher. His credentials are up to date with a certification to teach grades 6- 12 in history and political science. In May 2005, he applied at several schools and got no response. When September came Steve began to get nervous. In his spirit there was a sense of uneasiness. Then his dad presented him with the idea of working with Child Evangelism Fellowship. He prayed about it and felt a sense of peace about it. For the first time that summer Steve felt at peace. he attended Children’s Ministries Institute, located in Warrenton, MO, then later officially joined the CEF staff in this chapter in 2006. In 2012 Steve was named the Ministries Coordinator. It is his job to set-up, coordinate, and run the all aspects of ministry for this chapter. He has been with CEF ever since: presenting the Gospel to children all across Will, Grundy, and Kankakee Counties of IL in the public schools or where ever kids are. Leading a child to Christ is such a joy and a wonder every time a child receives Him. Steve is certain this is what God has placed him on this earth to do.
