CYIA

No passport or shots needed! No need to learn a new language!

That’s right! To be effective, a missions endeavor doesn’t need to take place in some remote part of the world! Child Evangelism Fellowship offers an opportunity this summer for an extremely meaningful, life-changing missions experience in your own backyard.

If you are at least 14 years old you could be trained to be a Summer Missionary! Summer missionaries are trained to teach 5-Day Clubs, Party Clubs, and take part in fairs. Summer missionaries are responsible for teaching Bible lessons, counseling kids for salvation, teaching the memory verse, teaching the missions segment, running games, and more.

All summer missionaries are required to attend the Summer Missionary Training School and is scheduled for June 2 -14, at Camp Good News near Peoria, IL. The total cost for training is $500, including Summer Ministry Kit/Materials and is required before attending training school (due June 1). Missionaries also raise financial support, a minimum of $1100 which includes training. Salaries for summer missionaries are paid out of the support you raise.

Learning to teach God’s Word to children is an amazing thing. I have seen God really work in the lives of the children and I have seen the children put their whole trust in Him. While I was teaching I was truly learning God’s word and what God was calling me to do. I have grown stronger in my relationship with God and seen areas in my own life that changed as I grew to know the Lord better.

Sharing the gospel is not the easiest thing…but the CEF training was hands on and the ministry was very hands on and effective. ….I’ve even amazed myself how much I changed…I came back with a calling, values, and purpose. It…jump-started my growth
in my relationship with Jesus.

CYIA… it was the best experience of my life. It not only taught me about Christ but led me to Christ. …I had a HUGE change in my life being able to work with other young people sharing the Good News of Christ. … For any who are thinking about becoming a CYIA’er I strongly encourage you to. Just know that God is on your side and He is able to do anything.

When I was 14 years old, I felt a tugging at my heart from the Lord saying “I want you to do CEF
this summer.” But doubt filled my head- I’m not competent and bold enough and maybe next summer. I couldn’t ignore the call though, so I finally decided to take the leap of faith, and I was and am so blessed having participated in CEF. I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer than for the work of the Lord. I felt God in a whole new way. God became so real to me as I met amazing people, got out of my comfort zone, and shared the word of God with children. I learned that God can use anyone, just the way he/she is, for His ministry. I learned of the great need for sharing God’s love with others, especially the children. They are the future and they are hurting. They need to see the love and hope of God, so dare to ask yourself, “Is God sending me?
